One of the most paramount goals of Jim Parker’s vision was to inspire and train the next generation of conservationist.  Over the last two decades, the AEF has endeavored to promote environmental education in the classroom and support young aspiring environmentalist.  The AEF has worked with local partners, including Brookwood Elementary, Wave Leadership College and others on projects including a butterfly habitat, donating environmental books to local school libraries and building an eco-friendly playground (garden building).  One of the most rewarding projects undertaken is the annual scholarship program through the Virginia Beach School District.  Since 2013, one or two students are selected from the local community.  Training and education is and will remain an integral part of the AEF’s efforts and mission.
